Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Nineteenth Century Prose is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and editorial responsibility. The journal expects authors, reviewers, and editors to follow ethical practices throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must submit original work and must ensure that all sources, quotations, ideas, images, and data are properly acknowledged. Manuscripts must not be submitted to more than one journal at the same time.

Authors should disclose any conflicts of interest, funding sources, or circumstances that may influence the interpretation of their work.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly, confidentially, and based on academic merit. Editorial decisions should not be influenced by personal, institutional, commercial, or political considerations.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and confidential evaluations. Reviewers must not use unpublished material from a manuscript for personal advantage and should disclose any conflict of interest.

Research Misconduct

The journal treats plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, improper authorship, and unethical use of sources as serious matters. When concerns arise, the journal may investigate and take appropriate editorial action.

Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or ethical issues are identified after publication, the journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue.
