Abstract

Examines biographical studies of the eighteenth-century Prime Minister by three Victorian politicians: Sir George Cornewall Lewis; Lord Robert Cecil, Marquis of Salisbury; and Archibald Primrose, Lord Rosebery. Explains how these three statesmen’s political biases influenced their portraits of Pitt.
