Abstract

Applauds Stack’s attempt to bridge the gap between literature and philosophy in his study. Believes he makes a strong case for the importance of Emerson as an influence on Nietzsche, but finds him making several questionable claims, especially about Emerson’s being the source of Nietzsche’s élitism.
