Is Deconstruction an Aestheticism?
Abstract
Lengthy critique of Loesberg’s book, which Miller believes does serious disservice to Pater, Derrida, and especially De Man. Explores in detail the unacknowledged assumptions about reading, literature, and philosophy that underlie Loesberg’s misrepresentation. Criticizes him for expressing unfounded assumptions about the nature and purpose of deconstruction.
