Applauds McGann’s introductory essay which celebrates the career of Cecil Y. Lang; expands on McGann’s comments by reviewing Lang’s contributions to Victorian studies. Concludes this disparate collection is neither particularly illuminating nor representative of the kind of scholarship Lang practiced for four decades.
