Muscular Anti- Christianity
Abstract
Has high regard for Annan’s ability to explain the causes and consequences of Stephen’s consistent attempt to separate religion and morality, and for placing his contributions to literature and intellectual history in a larger context. Critical of the disjointed nature of the presentation of the argument, and of Annan’s failure to give an adequate account of Stephen’s ability as a literary critic.
