Deconstructing and Reconstructing Ruskin

Authors

Abstract

Notes how different these two studies are, Wihl’s being heavily reliant on poststructuralist theory, Spears’ being rooted in techniques of conventional biography and intellectual history. Finds both very useful for explicating individual works and for celebrating Ruskin’s ability as a critic of art and society.
