Idylls of the Queen

Abstract

Finds the book offers little new, owing in part to the delay in publication; most of the information about Tennyson’s use of medieval sources is available in previously published work. Believes Staines does a creditable job reviewing accepted ideas about Tennyson’s Arthurian poem, and provides useful information on hard-to-locate materials in his appendixes.
