Abstract

Has great praise for the editors’ ability to contextualize Tennyson’s letters and offer a portrait of the poet in which his own words take center stage. Believes Lang and Shannon’s success lies in their extensive use of notes and their decision to incorporate materials from other sources to make sense of Tennyson’s correspondence.
