Abstract

Argues that, while the book deals with an intriguing subject, the argument is not new, the organization is flawed, and the confusion of fictional characters and their authors makes the study of limited value. Especially critical of Dyhouse’s use of American psychologist G. Stanley Hall as the basis for an examination of psychological issues.
