Life amid the Draperies
Abstract
Briefly summarizes the contents of Hopkinson’s book; notes the difficulties in writing about a minor figure. Faults Hopkinson for not using more of Edward Arnold’s correspondence to flesh out his portrait. Believes much could yet be done to understand the Arnold family by following up on the family’s tendencies to retain their links to their Celtic ancestors.
