Victorian Periodicals: The Critical Heritage

Authors

  • Rosemary VanArsdel

Abstract

Outlines the importance of the periodical press in Victorian England, and the efforts of twentieth-century scholars to catalog titles and essays. Comments favorably on all three volumes, but is especially high on Proudfit’s work because he attempts to extract critical principles from Landor’s disparate essays.
