Abstract

Commissioned by the editors of The Arnoldian upon the publication of Volume XI of Super’s edition of Arnold’s prose. Traces the development of Arnold’s ideas on religion, society, and literature as witnessed in the many essays included in Super’s volumes. Believes Arnold still has something to say a century after his death.
