Abstract

Peter Marshall and Zoe Beenstock add welcome volumes on nineteenth-century studies to the ever-growing project of bringing together Enlightenment and Romanticism – two distinctive fields of studies in literature, philosophy, and political theory. Their volumes will appeal across the disciplines also because they offer refreshing ways to explore Enlightenment rationalism and the politics of Romanticism through the works of major figures from the late eighteenth to the midnineteenth centuries, especially William Godwin.
